Parcel delivery startup GOFO Express is rapidly transitioning from a regional player to a national courier, backed by a significant $150 million investment in new e-commerce distribution centers. This ambitious move is set to reshape the company’s infrastructure for both middle-mile shipping and crucial last-mile delivery, ensuring it can handle the upcoming peak season surges.

The first major milestone is the opening of Gofo’s first U.S. super hub in Newark, New Jersey. A second large sortation center, the LAX Super Hub, is scheduled to begin operating later this quarter in Los Angeles, solidifying its new coast-to-coast operational structure.

Newark: A Technological Powerhouse

The Newark facility is GOFO’s largest and most advanced U.S. operation, spanning over 400,000 square feet. This state-of-the-art hub is a testament to automation in logistics:

  • Equipped with cross-belt and narrow-belt sorters.
  • Features robotic automation and an intelligent logistics system.
  • Capable of processing over 40,000 parcels per hour and handling more than 700,000 parcels daily.

GOFO, headquartered in Los Angeles, has joined a growing field of independent last-mile logistics providers emerging post-pandemic. These carriers are gaining traction by offering lower prices compared to established giants like FedEx and UPS, leveraging technology platforms for seamless customer integration, driver dispatch, and optimized route selection. Notably, the company’s investor base includes Super Smart Service, and major clients are reported to include platforms like Amazon, Temu, and AliExpress.

Rapid Network Growth and Global Reach

GOFO’s domestic expansion has been swift, with nearly 100 hubs and stations supported by more than 30 linehaul routes. The network currently serves 8,000 zip codes (70% of the U.S. population, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico) and expects to reach 10,000 zip codes by the end of 2025.

Further accelerating its reach, GOFO completed the acquisition of Cirro Parcel in August 2025, unifying operations under the GOFO brand and instantly expanding its trusted last-mile network into key European markets, including France, the Netherlands, and Italy.

The company now delivers to 49 of the Top 50 U.S. metropolitan areas, offering next-day delivery around major hubs and three- to five-day delivery across states and regions.

As Marshall Yuan, GOFO’s head of global strategy, noted: “With Newark now online, GOFO can move goods faster, smarter, and more predictably than ever. From coast to coast, our clients can count on GOFO for faster transit times, lower costs, and greater reliability.

Veho Upscales Capacity and Expands on Multiple Fronts

In related news, Veho, another significant last-mile delivery company, is also rapidly expanding its U.S. footprint and scaling its sortation capabilities.

Veho recently announced the opening of a new 150,000 square-foot regional distribution center outside Atlanta, Georgia (Lawrenceville). This new facility marks a substantial upgrade, enabling it to process five times as many e-commerce parcels as its previous regional hub. The new center is three times larger and features 32 dock doors, a major increase from the previous eight, which is critical for handling shipment spikes during the peak holiday season.

The center will serve as a key hub for Veho’s tech-enabled delivery network across the entire Southeastern U.S. The company relies on a crowdsourced network of 85,000 drivers matched to packages via its tech platform, which allows e-commerce brands to inject parcels for delivery across the U.S.

Key Growth Metrics and Clients

Veho is experiencing robust growth, reporting that parcel volumes moved through its network have doubled so far this year, with new client onboardings tripling.

Beyond Atlanta, Veho’s expansion includes a stronger presence in Southern California with new distribution facilities in Santa Fe Springs and Ontario. The platform now serves 105 million Americans across 44 markets, with a premium delivery experience trusted by leading brands such as:

  • Sephora
  • Zara
  • Lululemon
  • Saks
  • Macy’s

Industry Impact: What This Means for Trucking

The aggressive capital investments and network build-out by GOFO and Veho are creating a significant shift in the competitive landscape:

  • Increased Middle-Mile Demand: The new Super Hubs (Newark, LAX) and large regional centers (Atlanta, Santa Fe Springs, Ontario) require consistent, high-volume linehaul partners to connect them to distribution centers and last-mile stations. This means new and stable contract opportunities for long-haul and regional trucking companies.
  • Technology Integration: Both carriers rely on smart logistics systems and “smart integration.” Trucking partners who can seamlessly integrate their schedules and tracking with these platforms will be best positioned for preferred contracts.
  • Alternative Capacity: As e-commerce volume continues to surge, these rapidly growing carriers provide shippers with vital alternative capacity, reducing the market’s dependence on traditional giants and offering carriers more options.
